Cornelius Cheesemongers is an online cheese store, specialising in providing the finest artisan cheese from Australia and the world. Our cheesemongers select the best seasonal cheese, every week. Cheesemonger Matt Steele selects only the best cheese, a curated collection. All our online cheese orders are available for delivery or pickup from the cheese cave. If it’s cheese-related, we do it. Cut to order, designed and delivered direct to you.
How did you get started in the industry?
In 2008 we took over a cheese shop in Maling Road, Canterbury (Melbourne) and created an incredibly successful cheese shop and café that we ran until 2012. Cornelius Cheese online was born from an idea to take amazing cheese across Australia.
What is your favourite Australian cheese?
Southern Grotto – Apostle Whey.
What opportunities do you see for the future of the Australian specialty/artisan cheese industry?
Australian cheese is amazing, I’m excited to see new entrants into the marketplace, taking traditional methods and creating an Australian sense of taste and style to give back to the world. New world cheese has vast opportunity to break the mould and be original.
